EASTER SEALS THERAPY POOL PROGRAM (Eureka)

Pool funEaster Seals 23,000 gallon warm therapy pool is no more than 5 feet deep and kept at an inviting 92 degrees, creating an ideal environment for people suffering from arthritis, chronic pain, mobility issues, or recovering from an injury and unable to exercise without the added buoyancy. It is also ideal for adults and children learning to swim, or just getting introduced to the water. A graded entrance to the pool also makes it easily accessible for seniors, children and people in wheelchairs. We currently offer 18 classes a week in Adaptive Aquatic exercise, Aquatic exercise, Aqua Aerobics, and Kid’s Swim. For more information about our class schedule, or to inquire about group rates, please contact Leah Thompson at 707.445.8841 or email lthompson@noca.easterseals.com.

COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES SUPPORT SERVICES (CASS)

Transportation is a major challenge for children and adults with disabilities. In Butte and surrounding counties, families turn to Easter Seals for help in getting to medical appointments, travel to school and jobs and running essential errands. For some Far Northern families, it is the CASS program that makes the difference in their ability to achieve self-sufficiency and independence.

EQUIPMENT LOAN PROGRAM

Easter Seals' Equipment Loan program is a godsend to many seniors who are critically ill or temporarily disabled. It is an affordable alternative to purchasing equipment that is often beyond the reach of families financially or impractical because it is needed only for a short time. Inventory varies by location and depends on storage availability. However, most sites have canes, walkers, bath benches and commodes. Wheel chairs are often available as well. Please contact the following programs in your area: Cindy Fasano in Marin at 415.382.7450, Jacquie Irish in Sonoma at 707.584.1443 or Kathleen Cassidy in Eureka at 707.445.8841.
